The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, layout and documentation of hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves, as well as the design and maintenance of manufacturing-assembly procedures.

Essential Functions:
" Perform design troubleshooting and testing for products such as vane pumps, piston pumps, hydraulic valves etc.
" Support the sales group and distribution channel with technical support and design recommendations.
" Identify and implement improvements in current products design, manufacturing and selection of components.
" Design, document and coordinate system operations to ensure the manufacturing operations are aligned in their work procedures.
" Identify components for standardization in design to achieve both quality and cost objectives..

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:
" B.S. of Mechanical Engineering, 0-4+ years' experience
" Preference given to candidates with competent understanding or Technical degree in Fluid Power Technology.
" Knowledge of design, drafting and modeling using 2D Auto CAD and 3D Solidworks software or similar.

Job Description
Candidate must have experience or related education in both the assembly and wiring of automated controls. Qualified candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of how to read ladder logic diagrams. A qualified candidate will understand the basic principles of wiring controls. Duties include assembly and wiring of controls from layout drawings and schematics. A qualified candidate will have previous automated controls wiring experience or education in a related field. Electrical or electronic schooling is considered very beneficial. Working knowledge of pneumatic circuits would be a plus. Must be able to stand on your feet and work throughout the day.

Having a knowledge with sheet metal layout and fabrication drawing/modeling would be a plus.

Position Description:

Major Job Duties:

Experienced designer to develop conceptual CAD layouts and CAD working drawings of major components of mobile equipment or other types of heavy industry equipment.

Requirements

  • Associates in CAD design from an accredited institution
  • Must have 10+ years hands-on and in-depth design experience with major components of mobile equipment and or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience using Inventor or Solidworks, for the development of working drawings for assemblies, fabrications, sub-weldments, machined parts, hydraulic / electrical / schematics.
  • Must have been working continuously with one CAD system for two years
  • Must be familiar with weldment drawing creation including weld callouts, sizing, etc.
  • Must have experience working with either top down or bottom up assembly creation
  • Must have familiarity of sheetmetal functionality as well as proper drawing structure hierarchy
  • Must have some “hands on” experiences in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently
  • Must be computer literate using Word processing and Excel spreadsheets, as a minimum requirement.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, technical supervision or to upper management

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience using Pro-E/Creo, NX/Unigraphics, or Solid Edge a plus
  • GD&T Experience (ASME Y14.5) a plus
  • Experience working within a PDM system a plus

Summary

Reads and interprets engineering drawings to determine size and type of material needed.
Bolts, glues, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together.
Fabricates according to specifications, drawings and/or verbal direction.
Operates machines that are needed to perform production work of assembling parts.
Tests fitment of parts before modifying pieces and parts.
Measures, cuts and fastens plumbing materials such as: PVC pipe, Stainless steel pipe, copper pipe or other galvanized materials.
Fastens and secures customized production material onto custom frames.
Tests equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Qualifications
